What is the pathologist's role in the Covid-19 pandemic? Why doesn’t the same approach work for every individual facing Covid? These questions kick off this scientific discussion around the Covid-19 pandemic and how we can navigate the risks of this disease in our communities.

Dr. Cole discusses how the prevalence of the Delta variant, which is spreading like wildfire, will help us get to herd immunity faster as more people come in contact with the disease.

Dr. Cole explains how antibodies do fade over time even with natural infection, but what is far more important is your T Cells, the "Marines" of your immune system. Once you have natural immunity, your body remembers the virus. Also with natural immunity, you produce an IgA antibody which is not formed with a vaccination, so you have a broad, long-lasting immunity. The strongest immunity over time is natural immunity, per Dr. Cole.
